Edit Mode

Edit Mode allows you to edit the general settings and content of assets in your Site using a variety of screens and options. When you first enter Edit Mode you will be on the Details screen of the asset.

The Edit Mode interface is comprised of the Screen Selector at the top of the screen, and the Screen Content section at the bottom. These sections are highlighted in the figure above. 

As the asset in the figure above is Live, a warning message also appears, allowing users to initiate Safe Edit to safely make changes to the content of the asset. This message is shown in the figure below.

Please note that you can still make content changes to a Live asset. For more information on the Live and Safe Edit Statuses, refer to the Squiz Matrix Concepts chapter in the Concepts manual.

Please note that you will require Write Permission on an asset to edit its content and configure the fields and options available. For more information on permissions, refer to the Permissions chapter in the Users and Permissions manual.

Screen Selector

The Screen Selector displays the screens available for the asset in Edit Mode. The Screen Selector is shown in the figure below.

The screens available on the Screen Selector will vary depending on the type of asset that is being edited.

To switch between the available screens, click the screen tabs on the Screen Selector - you will be taken to the selected screen for the asset. In the figure above, the user is viewing the Details screen of the asset.

Screen Content Section

The Screen Content section displays the options and settings available on the selected editing screen. When you first enter Edit Mode, the Details screen of the asset will be displayed in this section. The Screen Content section displaying the Details screen of a Standard Page is shown in the figure below.

The Save button

Please note that you must click the Save button, shown in the figure to the right, to commit any changes made in the Screen Content section, before switching to another screen using the Screen Selector
